#YayYA Critique Rules, Schedule, and Entries!

GUIDELINES AND SCHEDULE FOR CRITIQUES:

All entrants will be notified if they made it in. Those who make it in will be given their entry's number.

After the sub window closes, entries will be posted on my blog, and links to the entries will be posted at the bottom of this post.

1. The first critique round will be open from Saturday, July 25th until 1pm, Saturday, August 1st. There will be a revision round afterward from Saturday, August 1st to Wednesday,  August 5th.

2. Entrants must critique the first five entries before and below their number. So, if you are entry #6, you will critique entries #1-5 and then #7-11. If you are entry #1, then critique #16-20 and #2-6, etc. Feel free to critique more! And if you are simply a spectator dropping by, feel free to leave your two cents! I already have some awesome tweeps who have offered to add their comments.

3. When you critique, always say something positive about the writer's work. No bashing, rude remarks, or "getting back" for hard criticism you might receive. Note: the comments will be unmoderated. Therefore, please do not use profanity, as I have a large MG-age blog audience. Foul comments will be deleted without exception.

If you have any questions about the rules, feel free to ask!

Throughout the party, we'll be hanging out on Twitter with the hashtag #YayYA with fun questions to answer and discuss!

Friday, July 24th: Share your entry's title, genre, and word count!#myentry

Saturday, July 25th: If your MC had a theme song, what would it be? #themesong

Sunday, July 26th: If your MC was an Olympian, what sport would they play? #MCOlympics

Monday, July 27th: Who is your favorite character in your entry's MS? #favcharacter

Tuesday, July 28th: What is your antagonist's favorite hobby? #antagshobby

Wednesday, July 29th: What inspired your MS? #inspiration

Thursday, July 30th: Have a playlist, Pinterest board, or other like go-to online place that helped you write your MS? Share it today! :D

Saturday, August 1st: If you could have lunch with any author(s), who would it be? #lunchwith

During the revision round, feel free to ask each other your own questions and start your own games.

From Saturday until the contests closes, feel free to come up with your own questions for each other! :D

Yay! Let's party! :D

  1. This is my first time doing something like this so I have a quick question. We critique the other entries till Aug 1st, then we revise. So do we re-post the revised entry on the 5th or after the 5th or not at all? Do we critique again or not or is it up to us?

    1. Hi Cayce! No problem! The revisions are to be sent in on the 1st. I'll post them the same day and they will be open to crits until the 5th. It is completely up to you whether or not to send in revisions, but if you do you should to pay it forward to your fellow revisers and crit their work :D

  2. After revisions I'm over the 500 words. Should I cut it down to 500 or leave it as is so everyone can see what I did and critique the same piece?
