You might want to consider taking one of you novel and offer to a friend who already has an agent, but doesn't have a new novel coming, to co-write your novel and submit it via her agent. That'll help the novel to get published and once you have some recognition you might get an agent and can submit the other novels under your name only. And you never know what's around the bends in your road...6 years ago, I was in the same place as far as thinking I was done with fiction writing, and now I'm querying for the first time. Sometimes you just need to let your creative spirit rest for awhile...there's a season for everything, as one very wise book says ;)<br /><br />Whether you come back to writing or not, having spent this time nourishing your creativity and growing your perseverance can only be a good thing. And if you do come back, it will be with entirely new perspectives and a whole new way of approaching the work.<br /><br />As far as the market goes, don't bother writing for it. Write for the joy of the story, and if that's not something you're finding in the words anymore, you're absolutely right to wait and see if it comes back. I've loved getting to know you through your involvement in the writing community, and definitely look forward to seeing what the next step in your journey will be.
